MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) - Campaign season officially kicked today off for Dr. Thelma Dillard who now faces opposition in the August 21st Bibb County School Board primary election.
With more than 40 years of experience in education, Dillard believes she has the skills needed to get the system back in check. Her campaign promise is to put the children first. She says if elected, Dillard will focus on unifying the school board.
"We don't want anymore of that bickering. What we need now is people who's gonna run this seat who care about the children. That's what we need to run for, and that's what I stand for," says Dillard.
The primary elections for the Bibb County School Board will take place on August 21st, not on July 31st. Dillard will face opposition in the Democratic primary for the District 2 seat.
