There is good news for coffee drinkers.
A new, 13-year study published in the New England Journal of Medicine shows coffee drinkers could live longer than those who don't indulge in a daily cup of Joe.
New research from the national institutes of health could be good for you.
Researchers, over thirteen years, studied the coffee habits of more than 400 thousand people between the ages of 50 and 71 and found men who drink six cups of coffee a day had a 10 percent lower mortality rate than non-coffee drinkers and female java faithful had a 15 percent lower mortality rate.
"My great grandfather lived to be 108 years old, and I'm Puerto Rican, so the Hispanic community tends to drink a lot of coffee. Puerto Ricans drink a lot of coffee and coffee in my baby bottle, so if that's right i figure I'll be living to about 120," said Aaron Rios, coffee drinker.
Researchers admit it might not be the coffee itself that improved longevity, but maybe something about making it, serving it or socializing with it that really creates the benefits.
Either way, the word for now is drink up.
