MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) - It might have been raining hard Wednesday afternoon, but it didn't stop hundreds from showing up at the Bibb County School District's Welcome Center for another school supply giveaway.
Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity teamed up with the Macon Bar Association to donate more than $2,500 for the supplies. Some of the money also covered the cost of pizza and drinks for those that showed up.
The contribution helped fill up more than 300 bags with school supplies--everything from notebook paper to pencils to scissors.
More than half the bags appeared to be gone in the first 30 minutes.
