KATHLEEN, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A 25-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly shooting both of his grandparents in the head.
67-year-old Rosylin Livingston and 70-year-old Thomas Livingston were both shot on Sunday night at their Kathleen home. The couple survived. The Livingston's grandson Joshua Allen Cook is being held without bond at the Houston County Sheriff's Office.
According to a news release, Rosylin Livingston called the Houston County 911 Center stating she had been shot by the head by her grandson, Cook, and that he was still armed somewhere in the house. Authorities arrived at the home on 500 block of Lake Joy Road around 10:50 p.m., where they located the couple. Thomas Livingston was restraining Cook.
According to victim's statements and evidence on the scene, investigators determined that Cook shot both of his grandparents in the head with a .22 caliber pistol after getting angry with his grandmother. Cook shot his grandmother and grandfather in the head. After being shot, his grandfather was able to overpower Cook and restrain him until deputies arrived.
The Livingston's were transported to the Medical Center of Central Georgia and Cook was also transported for injuries he received. Cook faces multiple charges including two counts of Aggravated Assault.
