KISSIMMEE, FL - The Atlanta Braves say minor league manager Luis Salazar is awake and able to respond to doctors after being hit in the face by a foul ball during an exhibition game Wednesday.
Salazar was airlifted to a hospital after being struck in the dugout during the game between the Braves and St. Louis Cardinals. Braves general manager Frank Wren says Salazar may have sustained a concussion and might have damage around his left eye.
The team did not have an official report from the hospital. Wren says Salazar was unconscious when an ambulance drove onto the field to help Salazar.
